Some of the tools you’ll need for installing a modern bathroom vanity are: level, pencil, hammer, hole saw, drill/driver, chisel, tape measure, stud finder, goggles, gloves, combination square, and caulk gun. The main materials you’ll need are the modern bathroom vanity, washers, wooden shims, latex caulk, quarter round moulding, and 3” wood screws.
The first step in installing a modern bathroom vanity is to disconnect the plumbing and remove the countertop sink. It’s good to remember that most cabinets are screwed into wall studs to provide the utmost in security. Make sure you remove the screws before you try and slide the old cabinet out. Always wear safety glasses and protective gloves when working with these objects.
Before purchasing the modern bathroom vanity, measure how much space you have, including the height, width and the location of the pipes in the empty space. Bring these measurements with you to your local bathroom furnishings store so you don’t have to estimate what will fit in the space. Carefully slide the modern bathroom vanity into place and check to see if the vanity is level. You can use a wooden shim underneath to make sure its square in the space. Fasten the vanity into the wall stud through the nailer using washers and the 3’’ wood screws. Use a chisel and hammer to cut off the edge of the shims and be careful not to damage the floor.
Moulding may be needed at the bottom of the cabinet and molding can be attached by using finishing nails. Place a bead of latex caulk along the top edge of the modern bathroom vanity and set the countertop in perfect place on top of the vanity. Place a fair amount of pressure on the countertop and allow the caulk to completely dry before you start using the vanity.
