Sandstone is a warm and singularly unique
material. Its popularity has
increased in the last few years as it
has become more readily available
in a variety of products. Sandstone
is a unique natural stone, initially
formed by sand cemented
together in the earth along with silica, iron,
or lime. The
cementing material determines the color of sandstone.
Thus iron
sandstones are reddish or brownish; carbon sandstones
are black;
siliceous are white; and argillaceous are earthy to buff.
