Either before work or before bed people all over the world turn on the water in their showers and hop on in. In an effort to rid dirt and crime they reach for their loyal friend: the soap. Everyone has their own ideal on what the perfect soap is but not all bath soap is created equal. There are tons of soap options out there in many form and it is about time that we learn what they are and what they can and can’t do for us for both cleaning and skin health.
1. Bar of Soap
The bar of soap is the quintessential bathroom soap item. It is what one thinks of when they think about soaping up in a nice warm bath or shower. The bar of soap is not always good though. Many come with artificial ingredients and chemicals. They also come with fragrances which can clog and irritate pores. As such, this item should never be used on the face unless it is a specific facial bar. For those of you with normal skin a bar of soap will work just fine but for those with sensitive skin be on the watch for your skin drying out as these bars tend to lack hydration and moisturizers. These items have also been known to become slippery and fly right out of the users hand. Also, keep on the look out for bars that will actually clean the dirt off without leaving a slimy or greasy residue behind. I mean what is the point of taking a shower if you are just going to come out feeling more dirty than before you got in?
2. Liquid Soap
This type of soap is probably one of the most popular. Not only is it more sanitary than the bar of soap but it is also guaranteed to not fly out of your hand as you use it. By putting a few drops on a loofah you can reach harder to get to places while giving yourself a slight body massage. A loofah is also slightly exfoliating so you can take care of two birds with one stone. There are also tons of options out there. These also are better at keeping your skin hydrated as a large majority of this type of bath soap comes with moisturizers in the formula. They come in scents formulated for the preferences of both men and women and are great for people of all ages and skin types. They are simply better and easier to use in general.
Now that you know the in’s and out’s of the two most common kind of bath soap you can make and educated decision or you could just go with what your heart tells you.
