This past June The National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA) Rocky Mountain Chapter hosted its annual Peak Awards to celebrate high-quality bath designs. These bathrooms feature the most popular bathroom design trends from the past year. Trends such as floor-to-ceiling shower glass enclosure, wall-mounted toilets, side-mounted faucets, and marble art.
Note, they are already accepting entries for their 2020 competition!
Among the 2019 winners were: Truss Interiors with “Organic Overhaul”, Christopher’s Kitchen and Bath with “Spa Azul”, Doug Walter Architects with “Compact Classic Girls’ Bath”, and D’amore Interiors with “Fine and Dandy Powder Bath”.
Bathroom Design Trends for 2019
Other unique design trends blur the lines between the bathroom and other interior spaces, such as walk-in closets and the bedroom. The appeal of modern floating vanities has not been overlooked, they are still a popular choice in 2019 for interior designers. Tile patterns now consist of long skinny tiles. Popular sink designs still feature glass vessel sinks.
Mirror, mirror, on the wall! Trends of 2019 include big impressions in small spaces; large mirrors help create a feeling of space in small bathrooms. Get creative, because full-length bathroom mirrors are not the only mirrors in style this year. Other styles include ultra-slim bathroom mirrors, exotic and unique shaped mirrors, large circle mirrors, and rustic suspended/small hanging mirrors! (To name a few.)
It seems that 2019 is also all about bold and dark bathroom designs, so don’t be scared to get a little edgy with your bathroom. On the contrary, pewter, and gunmetal are also popular trends of 2019. In addition, vanities in front of windows have also become a thing (especially if there is a good view with natural light coming in). If you have a bathroom that allows for this, I recommend trying it!
